Title: Media Specialist
Administer and curate a diverse collection of media resources to support instruction, promote literacy, and foster a culture of reading and lifelong learning. Provide technology assistance as needed. Work independently with minimal supervision, applying intermediate-level knowledge as an experienced contributor.
Essential Job Duties
- Monitor and manage the library space for open access.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate literacy and technology into the curriculum.
- Curate a collection of books, digital media, and research materials supporting student learning.
- Manage library operations, including circulation, budgeting, and procurement.
- Promote reading and literacy through clubs and activities.
- Assist with educational technologies to enhance learning.
- Organize and maintain library resources for easy access.
- Perform administrative tasks such as webmaster duties and media production.
- Stay updated on educational technology trends and best practices.
- Identify and resolve moderately complex issues.
- Modify processes to improve departmental performance.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Valid Professional Standards Commission S-5 certificate or higher.
