POSITION SUMMARY
The Content Coordinator will play a key role in enhancing the Culinary Institute of America’s (“CIA’s”) online presence by managing and executing content across multiple social media platforms. This position will focus on content creation, driving engagement, and producing reporting and analytics to support the business objectives for the CIA brand, student recruitment efforts, industry leadership, and consumer initiatives. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, storytelling, and digital trends, with a keen eye for visual content and community engagement.
Additionally, this role will work closely with the Content and Social Media Manager and the marketing team to ensure alignment with overall institutional goals and branding strategies.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, schedule, and publish content across CIA’s social media channels, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Create engaging multimedia content, including photos, videos, and graphics, that aligns with CIA’s brand and strategic goals.
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions to foster community engagement.
- Collaborate with students, faculty, and staff to source compelling stories that showcase campus life, academic programs, and industry partnerships.
- Assist in the execution of influencer partnerships, alumni features, and live social media coverage of events.
- Track and analyze social media performance metrics to optimize content strategy and engagement.
- Stay up to date with social media trends, algorithm changes, and best practices to enhance CIA’s online presence.
- Work closely with the marketing team to align social media efforts with broader institutional campaigns and goals.
- Any and all other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Associate’s Degree in marketing, new media, communications, food media, food business or a related field.
- One (1) year of experience as a marketing intern, coordinator, social media specialist, or in a similar role.
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, new media, communications, food media, food business or a related field.
- Higher Education marketing experience preferred.
- Passion for food, beverage and hospitality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent quantitative skills and analytical capability.
- Strong storytelling capabilities.
- Must have experience with Canva, Trello, Adobe Photoshop, Capcut or other video editing software, MS Office suite of products, e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Google Docs/Sheets.
- Must have demonstrated ability in organizational, time management, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently.
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to increase awareness and build social followings.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, design, & execute social media advertising campaigns.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate with outside vendors to create strong partnerships that benefit the business.
- Must be able to work overtime on nights and weekends as required by business needs.
- Regular work requires working at a computer for extended periods of time, sometimes in excess of eight (8) hours per day.
