Lead Product Designer (Hybrid) - Furniture Focus Preferred About Our Client: CXO has been hired to source and place a Digital Marketing Director for our client, a small but high-growth designer and manufacturer of high-end home furnishings. Our client maintains a professional atmosphere while fostering an environment that prioritizes innovation and collaboration. The Role: As a Product Designer, you will be instrumental in bringing our product visions to life. This is a full-time, hybrid position, offering the flexibility of remote work with weekly in-office meetings. You will be responsible for the end-to-end design process, collaborating closely with various departments to ensure successful product launches. Key Responsibilities: Lead the product design process from initial concept to final production, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of design principles and manufacturing limitations. Develop detailed and accurate line drawings, communicating design intent clearly to manufacturing teams. Apply engineering principles to designs, ensuring feasibility, structural integrity, and cost-effectiveness. Create precise DXF files for manufacturing, optimizing for production efficiency. Produce high-quality renderings to visualize and present design concepts effectively. Conduct thorough research on industry trends, material innovations, and consumer preferences to inform and inspire new design concepts. Collaborate seamlessly with Production, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Service teams to gather feedback, address challenges, and ensure product success. Contribute to design reviews, providing constructive feedback and presenting design rationale. Required Qualifications: Proven experience as a Product Designer, demonstrating a strong portfolio of successful product launches. Expertise in designing products from start to finish, including in-depth line drawings, engineering considerations, DXF file creation, and high-quality renderings. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator), CAD (e.g., Rhino 3D, along with experience in other industry-standard design software. Demonstrated ability to research and interpret market trends to inform and create innovative design concepts. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Ability to work in a hybrid capacity, with the willingness to come into our Charlotte office weekly for meetings Preferred Qualifications: Experience in furniture design is highly preferred. Located in the Charlotte, NC area or willing to relocate. Familiarity with common materials (MDF, plywood, hardwood, etc.). Working knowledge of HOMAG IX software.
