Assessment and Authorization Specialist
to join our team in
Herndon, VA.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Advise and assist the Sponsor's customers with the Lifecycle Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processAdvise and assist the Sponsor's customers with development of a System Security PlanUtilize COTS/GOTS and custom tools and process/procedures in order to scan, identify, contain, mitigate and remediate vulnerabilities, and intrusionsMonitor, track, and update status of systems in the assessment queueCoordinate technical security assessments of computing environments and systems to identify points of vulnerability, non-compliance with established Information Assurance (IA) standards and regulations, and recommend mitigation strategiesAssist architect and services developers in the identification and implementation of appropriate information security controls and potential security functionality to ensure uniform application of security policy and enterprise solutionsCreate and review A&A Body of Evidence (BOE) documentation, providing succinct assessment on compliance of its content for Sponsor's use for A&A adjudicationDesign and implement trusted interfaces among external systems and architecturesValidate and verify system security requirements definitions and analysis and establishes system security design for controlsDesign, develop, and implement, and/or integrate IA and security systems and system components including those for networking, computing, virtualization, cloud, and enclave environments to include those with multiple enclaves and with differing data protection/classification requirementsBuild IA into systems and services deploying into operational environments at multiple classifications levelsRecognize potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises thorough review and analyses of relevant event detail and summary informationAssess and mitigate system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycleContribute to the security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification and awareness activities for system and networking operationsBasic Qualifications:Must have a minimum of (10) ten years of related experience.Preferred Qualifications:A bachelor's degree. A bachelor's degree can substitute (4) four years of experienceRelated certificationsClearance Requirements:Must be a U.S. citizenMust hold a TS/SCI clearanceMust hold a polygraphPhysical Requirements:Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printerThe person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
