Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our client's engineering team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining facility layouts, component designs, machine designs, and M&P (Mechanical and Plumbing) drawings, with a focus on HVAC and plumbing systems. This role requires proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, as well as a strong understanding of mechanical design principles and MP systems.
Must be local to the Rochester area, with potential hybrid or remote work options available.
Pay Rate:
$35-$40/hr Contract Length:
6-12 months
Key Responsibilities: Create and update detailed 2D and 3D facility layouts using AutoCAD 3D Design and modify mechanical components, assemblies, and machine designs using SolidWorks Develop HVAC and plumbing drawings, including ductwork layouts, piping systems, and equipment placement Create isometric drawings for complex MP systems Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and architects Prepare technical documentation, including bills of materials, design specifications, and equipment schedules Participate in design reviews and provide input on improving design processes Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and company guidelines Required Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Mechanical Design or Equivalent Experience Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design, including facility, component, and MP drawings Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD 3D Excellent spatial visualization skills Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications:
CSWA (Certified SolidWorks Associate) or CSWP (Certified SolidWorks Professional) certification Experience with HVAC system design and plumbing layouts is a plus Understanding of building energy efficiency and sustainable design practices Key Skills:
