Randstad in partnership with The Vanguard Group are actively seeking an Graphic Designer to join their team in Malvern, PA starting in on a temporary basis. The Vanguard Group is an American investment management company that offers a variety of services, including retirement services and advice. The company was founded by John C. Bogle in 1975 and is based in Malvern, Pennsylvania.
Provide high-quality and effective design solutions for a variety of communications collateral for corporate and marketing. Uses advanced expertise to ensure materials strengthen and support our brand strategy.
Responsibilities
- Possesses and uses knowledge of brand strategy and client’s product, in collaboration with creative, business, and marketing teams, to produce strategically targeted and integrated materials. Works as a team in brainstorming, planning, prioritizing, and completing assigned projects.
- Conceptualizes, presents, and executes creative decisions. Collaborates with and guides vendors when the use of outside resources is warranted (photo shoots, modeling agency, printers, etc.).
- Uses and demonstrates advanced understanding of Macintosh graphics software programs, typography, production, and digital pre-press tools and techniques in producing digital files for electronic or print output.
- Works closely with Design Supervisor/Manager and design staff to ensure graphic consistency across all projects; explains and supports the standards when evaluating projects with creative team and clients.
- Handles a high volume of work simultaneously; produces assignments with speed and accuracy to meet time, budget, and client needs. Keeps up-to-date records of project time; strictly follows departmental procedures for naming, storing, and archiving.
- Troubleshoots technical issues in text conversion, layout, and printing. Pursues and shares best practices with the team. Acts as backup supervisor in manager’s absence.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree (BA, BFA) in Graphic Design or equivalent combination of training and work experience.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in a design studio, advertising agency, or corporate communications environment.
- Experience with the process of launching a brand
- Experience in creating animation and illustration. Multimedia design would be a plus.
- User Experience (UX) Design experience.
- Demonstrates expertise in QuarkXPress, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe PhotoShop on a Macintosh platform.
- Possesses strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to take direction, meet deadlines and perform and direct multiple tasks.
- Full knowledge of offset print production.
- Basic understanding of web design (HTML, Images, and Flash).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows operating system.
