Summary:
The Senior Manager, Content Development is responsible for managing the creation of high-quality learning courses, experiences, and assets for an assigned domain, contributing to on time delivery of products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partner with product team leadership and colleagues to execute the organization’s vision for CompTIA products and programs on a global scale.
- Manage the day-to-day development of learning courses and content assets for a given domain, directing SMEs, authors, and contributors as needed, with a focus on innovation, quality, and meeting project deadlines.
- Collaborate with the guild to determine what learning assets are most appropriate to meet specified learning goals.
- Adhere to the principles of CompTIA’s overarching content strategy, prioritizing reuse and single source authoring, amongst other tactics, to accelerate product release cycles.
- Apply the latest developments and best practices in learning and instructional design, alongside feedback from internal and external stakeholders, to assigned projects.
- Manage project tracking and status tools to ensure project teams are working at appropriate volumes and velocity to enable on-time product launch.
- Create subject matter expert profiles for Intelligence Engagement team to use for recruiting third-party content creators and reviewers.
- Manage publishing process for how content is deployed through learning platforms.
Key Performance Metrics:
- Coordinate team and third party resources to ensure content meets quality standards and is the appropriate scope for the desired audience.
- Implement initiatives that reduce development time.
- Deliver course content on time and within budget.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent collaboration skills to work closely with cross-functional teams in order to drive product execution and innovation.
- Passion for education and learning.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience with software systems including authoring, project tracking platforms, and learning delivery platforms.
- Knowledge of best practices learning and development methods.
- Team player with high EQ who excels at working across teams.
- Proven experience in Project Management, project tracking, managing vendors, and deadline management.
- Experience working with SMEs and third party contributors for on time delivery and Quality Control.
- Ability to coach and train SMEs and team members on instructional Design Principles.
Education and/or Experience:
- Degree preferred but not required for the role.
- 6+ years of direct experience in related field.
