As a hands-on Engineering Manager, you will manage a focused group of professionals within the larger team, contributing to the overall success of our quality engineering initiatives. Your expertise in test engineering and commitment to excellence will ensure our products sound incredible and look picture-perfect, driving high-performance results. You'll also lead and develop a team of engineers in our brand new Unified Communications lab!
This role will be on-site with flexibility (4 days on-site/1 day remote) at our Skokie, IL location.
Responsibilities
Essential Skills for Success in this Role:
- Unified Communications Experience: Demonstrated experience and expertise in Unified Communications, specifically with Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms.
- Passion for Quality Excellence: Dedication to delivering top-notch products and uncovering customer-impacting defects.
- Outstanding Communication Skills: Clear and accurate communication in both written and oral forms.
- Self-Driven and Motivated: Ability to take charge from reviewing requirements to delivering the finished product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Focus: Align testing strategies with customer needs.
- Masterful Test Planning: Craft detailed and meticulously structured test plans and test cases.
- Innovative Test Execution: Design, develop, and execute both manual and automated test cases.
- Technical Leadership: Guide and support your team effectively in technical discussions.
- Team Development: Foster an environment of continuous improvement and learning.
- Project Management: Lead and manage testing projects to achieve superior outcomes.
- Proactive Problem-Solving: Anticipate and address challenges promptly.
- Effective Communication: Communicate complex technical concepts and strategies effectively.
- Strategic Execution: Support strategic planning and execution efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of total experience in quality engineering, system testing, or a related technical field.
- Extensive experience with conferencing platforms and applications.
- In-depth understanding of conferencing system architectures, protocols, and integrations.
- Proven experience in testing and ensuring the quality of system solutions.
- Expertise in testing and validating audio quality.
- In-depth knowledge of camera technologies and experience in testing camera quality.
- Proficiency in assessing and ensuring high video quality.
- Familiarity with conferencing hardware and software interoperability issues.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues in live environments.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with agile methodologies and using AI tools and frameworks.
