Multimedia Journalist - Omaha, NE

The Omaha World-Herald, Nebraska’s largest newsgathering organization, is seeking an energetic and driven multimedia journalist to join our award-winning newsroom.

This is an opportunity to help shape the digital future for a newsroom based in a growing city recently named by Forbes as the No. 1 city in America to move to. The Omaha region has a strong appetite for local sports and holds a significant place in the national political landscape.

The person in this role will be a key player in growing The World-Herald's digital audience and subscriber base.

We’re seeking a hardworking, strategic thinker who thrives under pressure, can craft compelling, accurate headlines on tight deadlines, and embraces digital-focused storytelling and experimentation.

This role works with multiple editors and offers learning and advancement opportunities.

The schedule includes evening and weekend work. Familiarity with social media, SEO strategy, Adobe Creative Cloud, AP style, and digital best practices is a plus. Eagerness to learn is essential.

Responsibilities include:

• Reporting and producing written content for The World-Herald’s digital platforms, focusing on timely, accurate reporting to reach large audiences
• Editing and posting content produced by other journalists
• Writing compelling headlines for multiple platforms
• Creating written and visual content for social media
• Producing and editing videos and podcasts
• Advocating for digital transformation
