Summary
The Communications Specialist is a key contributor in the development and support of the firm's messaging, branding, public relations and content marketing programs. The Communications Specialist must be a compelling writer, self-starter and team player with strong interpersonal communication, organization and project management skills. The position supports the development, production and distribution of marketing content across a variety of vehicles, channels, and media to maximize reach and to reinforce brand positioning. This is a position that requires a high level of proficiency in both strategic level activities and hands-on, tactical execution.
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in marketing communications, journalism, public relations, writing or related field.
Two to four years of writing experience in journalism, marketing, public relations or internal communications.
Experience writing for or about professional services.
Experience developing content calendars and managing marketing content.
Strong understanding of AP Style.
Preferred Education & Experience
Law Firm experience preferred.

Content Development & Marketing (40%)
Create and disseminate compelling marketing materials that raises the firm's visibility and reinforce the firm's brand positioning while increasing awareness of the firm and the attorneys.
Write, review, and/or edit external marketing materials, including but not limited to web content, attorney bios, practice and industry descriptions, articles, presentations, infographics and more.
Collaborate with attorneys to distill complex messages in a clear and concise manner, while ensuring that all material is consistent with the firm's brand, voice and style.
Manage the coordination and strategic distribution of content across mediums.
Monitor and interpret industry trends and content performance to shape strategy, themes and messaging.
Identify visual elements to enhance content and storytelling.
Media & Public Relations (30%)
Implement and execute media and public relations activities that promote the firm's experience and knowledge, including identifying proactive opportunities for positive media coverage.
Prepare PR materials, including press releases, media pitches, deal and case announcements, awards and nominations, etc.
Works closely with the Media Relations Manager and the firm's outside PR agency to facilitate media opportunities for attorneys.
Monitor and report on media coverage.
Manage and maintain media distribution lists, and develop targeted media lists as needed.
Coordinate with the Director of Marketing in the annual PR plan, including coverage firm-wide, and at the practice division, industry and individual attorney levels.
Social Media (25%)
Coordinates with marketing team members regarding social media content, including the overall content plan, strategy and schedule.
Authors content for the firm's social media accounts, including LinkedIn, Instagram, X and Facebook.
Advises attorneys on best practice regarding social media use, specifically LinkedIn.
Helps monitor social media for mentions of the firm, the management team and attorneys.
Tracks and measures the firm's social media analytics.
General and Administrative (5%)
Monitor compliance with the Firm's media policy.
Perform other duties as assigned.

The salary range for this role is $62,000 - $78,000. The salary range for this position is based on a variety of factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, and location. The range is provided as an initial approximation at the time of posting and may vary based on the individual's unique qualifications and experience.
