In this position, you will lead a group of talented marketing experts to define and execute a vision for HDR’s Architecture Marketing Studio (AMS), always seeking to elevate marketing deliverables and strategy and more effectively communicate with our clients, across our industry and to our local communities.
This position reports directly to the President for the Architecture Business Group.
Primary Responsibilities:
Create and execute a vision for the Architecture Marketing Studio, building on the established best practices and company protocols, while introducing new ideas.
Manage a group of AMS principals that collectively oversee pursuits, communications, graphic design, visual media and information services.
Cultivate a culture that supports teamwork, celebrates talent and fosters continuous innovation.
Set goals and develop strategic plans and key initiatives to ensure AMS is well-positioned to win new work and enhance brand awareness in alignment with the overall business group goals and firmwide strategic plan.
Maintain a strong understanding of the market trends and drivers impacting our clients.
Implement key growth initiatives and investments as defined in annual and long-term strategic plan.
Drive the visual and creative components of the marketing studio.
Implement strategies to elevate HDR’s brand and technical talent with industry associations.
Actively participate in professional associations to elevate HDR’s brand in target markets.
Retain, develop and supervise pursuits, communications, graphic design, visual media and information services leadership, as assigned.
Establish and manage global architecture marketing budget to support market sector and business class priorities and goals.
Train and mentor employees on business development and marketing best practices.
Lead or delegate appropriate staff to oversee large, internal meetings (in-person or virtual).
Articulate HDR’s capabilities and competitive advantages.
Serve as a Business Group liaison to the corporate relations team.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 15 years relevant industry experience.
Demonstrated “self-starter” with a history of completing projects with limited oversight.
Deep knowledge of the A/E/C industry’s standard approach to procurement of professional services.
Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire others.
Experience in sales and developing effective win strategies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign.
Ability and desire to travel and engage with others in-person.
Demonstrated experience in winning high-value contracts in the A/E/C industry.
Demonstrated experience in writing compelling content based on information from technical staff.
