Position Summary
The Head of Marketing will play a pivotal role in leading the Marketing team and supporting strategy development reporting to the Chief Strategy & Partnerships Officer (CSPO). This role is designed for a strategic thinker with deep industry knowledge in wealth management, a passion for data-driven decision-making, and the ability to build team and organizational structure for a growing department. The Head of Marketing will be responsible for aligning the overall marketing strategy with business goals, ensuring excellence in operational execution, and driving performance across all marketing channels. This leader will initially manage a team of 6-10 Marketing professionals with responsibility for developing a cohesive, high performing team. The Head of Marketing should possess a minimum of five years of direct team leadership and track record of driving results. This role can be located in Cleveland, OH, Akron, OH, Berwyn, PA or Tampa, FL.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
Provide leadership and mentorship to the Marketing Team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement. Oversees the daily workflow of the department. Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.Strategic Planning & Alignment : Work closely with the CSPO to develop and refine the overarching marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with Sequoia's 2030 vision.Execution Oversight : Lead the implementation of marketing initiatives leveraging the Marketing team, ensuring all campaigns and programs are executed effectively and on time.Market Research & Analysis : Oversee market research efforts to understand client needs, market trends, and the competitive landscape in the wealth management industry. Translate insights into actionable strategies.Data-Driven Decision Making : Champion a data-first approach, utilizing marketing analytics to measure performance, identify opportunities for optimization, and inform decision-making.Brand Management : Ensure "Built for You" brand consistency across all touchpoints and marketing channels to maintain a strong brand presence in the wealth management sector.Client Acquisition & Retention : Develop and refine strategies focused on client acquisition, retention, and growth, ensuring alignment with sales and client management teams.Innovation & Growth : Identify new opportunities for growth, including the exploration of new channels, technologies, and partnerships.Budget Management : Collaborate with the CSPO to manage the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and delivering a strong return on investment.Integration Support for Acquired Firms:
Oversees the build-out of the Sequoia integration process for marketing assets and strategy, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition for integrating firms.Requirements
Required Skills/Experience
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, or a related field.10+ years of experience in marketing, with a strong emphasis on strategy development and execution.5 years of direct management experience leading teamsProven experience in the financial services industry.Deep understanding of marketing analytics, digital marketing, and client segmentation.Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience overseeing cross-functional teams.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong focus on results.Preferred Skills/Experience
