IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to join our fun and friendly marketing team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the IXL events strategy, with a focus on executing smooth and successful IXL Live events. LI-FA1The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about IXL's mission to impact education.This is a full-time, hourly position in our San Mateo headquarters office. The work schedule for this role is Monday-Friday in the office with the option to work from home one day per week.WHAT YOU'LL BE DOINGSource hotel venues for up to 80 IXL Live events per spring and fall season. Negotiate pricing and finalize contracts with vendorsCoordinate all aspects of event planning and execution - catering, AV, room setup, and paymentBook hotel rooms for IXL Live presenters, assist with booking flights for event-related travel as neededPack and ship event swag and supplies to and from events, track shipping, maintain inventory of materials; print event materials Communicate event details and logistics to internal teams and host kickoff meetings at the start of each season; ensure presenters have everything they need for a successful eventAssist with packing and shipping conference display materials to and from tradeshowsWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORBA/BS degree2 - 4 years experience in event planning, marketing, and/or administrative work Energetic and positive person who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and works well with deadlinesExcellent verbal and written communicator who can collaborate effectively with a wide range of peopleSelf-starter with the ability to plan and build timelines, prioritize tasks, and act resourcefully to resolve problemsExperience with Eventbrite is a plusQuick learner who demonstrates initiative and can work well both within a team and independentlyAn interest in education and education technologyAbility to lift up to 50 pounds. Parts of this role are physically demanding, with substantial time spent packing and shipping materialsOur pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The base hourly rate for this full-time position is $28.00 to $30.00 per hour benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay ranges for the position. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
