Overview
The System Designer for Range & Consumption is responsible for:
- Leading the evaluation of energy consumption, acceleration performance, capability (e.g. trailer tow) and drivability for new electrified powertrains and vehicles using computer modeling techniques and test data analysis
- The System Designer analyzes architectures and concepts to achieve functional requirements
- Creating models to analyze the performance of these concepts relative to requirements
- Conducting first principles analysis, development of detailed models, simulation using these models, analysis of the simulation results and draws conclusions from the simulation
- Communicating the results in oral presentations and written reports to Chief Engineers, COEs, Component Engineers and others including Propulsion Systems management
