About the Role:
Group O is seeking a Social Media Manager, Entertainment to strategize, execute and bring entertainment priorities to life on social media for a leading streaming + television provider. The ideal candidate can engage, entertain and inform content through innovative digital storytelling and has a keen understanding of social media strategies.
Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic Social Media Manager to join our client's remote team in Los Angeles. This role will specialize in the entertainment sector (think TV shows, movies, catalog content, streaming apps) but also requires an understanding of the wider television landscape, including the intersection between entertainment and sports.
The ideal candidate loves all things TV and movies, is caught up on the latest shows, and understands how to create engaging, sharable content for entertainment fans. This candidate has 4-5+ years of experience working in social media, either in-house for a large brand or at an agency. Experience at a streaming service or television networkwould be a huge advantage. You are equally comfortable crafting long-term social strategies as you are jumping into the weeds to execute day-to-day content.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing the ability to plan months in advance while quickly pivoting based on insights, platform changes, and business needs. You have a deep understanding of social media culture, content formats, and platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Facebook, YouTube) and how they intersect with both entertainment and sports. You understand the power of creators and user-generated content but can also flex your own creative skills to develop social content that sparks conversation.
This role requires someone who can confidently navigate corporate environments, partner with entertainment programmers, present to leadership, and educate stakeholders on the value of social media - all while remaining tapped into the latest trends and best practices in social. Bonus if you're comfortable being on-camera to interview red carpet talent and help bring our brand to life across social channels.
As an organization, we currently work remotely, but due to role's in-person requirements at premieres, events and junkets, a Los Angeles area applicant would be advantageous.
This candidate will report into the team's Chief Social Editor, supporting our client's efforts as the day-to-day social lead for entertainment editorial strategy and execution.
