VP of Marketing at Big Onion Hospitality
Are you the life of the party and the one who planned it? Do you know everyone in your neighborhood—and their favorite drink? Big Onion Hospitality is looking for a Field Marketing Coordinator to lead grassroots marketing, in-venue activations, and gameday events across our locations, including Fatpour Tap Works, Woodie’s Flat, and Hopsmith Tavern. This is not a desk job. You’ll be out in the field hosting events, building community partnerships, driving foot traffic, and creating relationships with influential social groups that get people in the door and talking about Big Onion's event and gameday atmosphere long after last call. Responsibilities ·Lead and execute in-person gameday activations and weekly promotions at each location ·Build relationships and networking with local businesses, schools, clubs, teams, and social groups to drive group reservations and private events ·Represent our venues at community events, festivals, and networking mixers ·Host and support high-impact in-venue events and brand pop-ups ·Coordinate with the marketing and events teams to promote ongoing initiatives ·Track and report grassroots marketing efforts and wins ·Are a natural connector who thrives in a crowd and loves talking to people ·Are organized, self-motivated, and willing to roll up your sleeves for game days, theme nights, and last-minute surprise parties ·Know how to hustle—but make it look fun ·Are comfortable working nights and weekends as needed for key events ·Live in Chicago or nearby and know the local scene Bonus Points For: ·Have reliable transportation and the ability to travel between locations as needed Qualifications ·Experience working with bars, restaurants, live events, sports, or hospitality groups ·Experience in event planning, marketing, coordination, sales, promotions, brand ambassadorship, or hospitality marketing ·Familiarity with social media content and influencer/community outreach ·Exceptional written and verbal communication skills ·Competitive base salary ($55,000-$65,000, based on experience) ·Commission on qualified leads for events ·Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance ·401k with employer match after waiting period ·Paid time off ·Dining and venue discounts ·Opportunities for professional growth and development ·A dynamic and inclusive work environment Big Onion Hospitality is an equal opportunity employer.
