Canopy is seeking a highly creative and analytical Social Media Content Creator & Editor to join our growing Marketing team. The Content Creator & Editor will utilize the Canopy Marketing Calendar to conceptualize and produce posts across all major social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.), spanning all content types and formats. The ideal candidate stays ahead of social media trends and cultural moments, employing proven tactics for timely and relevant content that resonates with our community and drives growth & engagement. You will manage the entire content production process, from filming to editing, while experimenting with various styles to keep our content fresh and engaging with our community across social media platforms. We’re seeking a creative thinker with strong storytelling abilities who is passionate about wellness/beauty and our community, with excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own the Social Content Creation Process: From ideation, to appearing in content, to distribution, ensure cohesive, brand-building, and high-quality outputs across all platforms.
- Video and Still Asset Production: Develop, produce, and edit captivating videos and photos for various uses, foremost being social media.
- Video Editing: Edit a variety of video assets, including ads, social posts, website videos, and educational content.
- Social First: Take a social-first approach to all content you create. Content should be concepted and executed with the goal of increasing organic reach for Canopy. You should bring a proven strategic approach for testing, learning and driving growth.
- Platform Specific: Create content that is tailored for each of Canopy's social platforms, utilizing specific insights to craft engaging & high performing content for each.
- Data-Driven Insights: Frequently analyze performance of content to optimize continuously via regular reporting and actionable recommendations.
- Concept Development: Collaborate with the creative team to develop concepts and storyboards.
- Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate innovative techniques into projects.
- Community: Engage with and manage the Canopy and broader wellness community across various social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.) and monitor comments and trends to foster a sense of community and drive meaningful interactions.
- Drive proactive social interactions across social channels to keep Canopy involved in relevant conversations and top of mind for social users.
- Sourcing Creators: Source photo and video creators as needed, managing the content budget to ensure high-quality and cost-effective production.
You're Probably a Match If You Have
- 5-10 years of relevant experience, ideally in a start-up environment.
- Proven track record of social media content creation with a portfolio showcasing your ability to create viral, high-performing content.
- Experience with building a content strategy for highly successful social accounts (could be personal, brand, etc.).
- Experience using industry-recognized tactics for hacking social growth including (but not limited to) franchise development and iteration.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom), Final Cut Pro, CapCut and other relevant software.
- Strong skills in project management, creative ideation, and strategic planning.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
- A proactive attitude towards learning new techniques and keeping up with industry trends.
- Passion for the consumer brands space, with an emphasis on beauty and wellness being a plus.
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills.
Comp Range
- $75-$95k
Location
- Open to fully remote but NYC is highly preferred.
