McKinney York Architects is a concept-driven design firm that believes in the power of people and places to enrich lives. Recipient of both the AIA Austin and Texas Society of Architects Firm Awards, our goal is to connect people to each other and the world around them by creating architecture that engages, inspires, and belongs. We work on a wide variety of project types from residential to academic, religious, commercial, and civic.

For this position, we are seeking talented designers with a preferred experience level of 5+ years and the desire to be in a creative and collaborative office. Ideal candidates must thrive in a self-directed environment, have sound judgement, and an overactive attention to detail. Frequently, persons in this position will work on multiple projects, so the ability to stay organized and manage time carefully is important.

Candidates interested in both PM and PA roles will be considered.

Required Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture
• 5+ years’ work experience
• Revit, AutoCAD and Sketchup/Formit proficiency
• Ability to communicate design ideas via hand sketching, 3D computer renderings and verbal presentation skills
• Knowledge of architectural design, documentation, detailing, building materials, building codes and construction technologies
• Commitment to all aspects of sustainability
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• LEED AP credentialed

We have a flexible work schedule, and typically work 40-45 hours per week with additional hours during crunch times. All employees are equipped with laptops, webcams and video conferencing services to participate in project meetings, client meetings, weekly staff meetings, happy hours, training, and design critiques. We utilize technology to provide a highly-effective and well-connected work experience. The health and well-being of our staff is our highest priority.
