Pay: $26.03 - $35.22 per hour, depending on experience.

Job Summary
Works closely with Project Engineers to create mechanical design documents necessary for equipment production from customer provided drawing and specifications.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Participate with project teams to create design documents including, but not limited to: solid models, drawings and bills of material necessary for equipment production.
- Prepare and release design document to manufacturing
- Provide technical direction and consultation to other team members
- Participate in equipment assembly, testing.
- Create and maintain mechanical design standards
- Generate solid models for use in the manufacturing
- Abide by company policies
- In order to achieve business objectives, work weeks in excess of 40 hours may be required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- AA or AS degree in Engineering Technology field or related experience
- 3 years related design experience
- General Characteristics
- Applies broad knowledge of principles and practices in numerous practice areas.
- Independently evaluates, selects and adapts standard techniques, procedures and criteria to perform assigned tasks
- Exercises judgment on details of work and in application of standard methods for projects of varying complexity
- Works on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects
- General Technical Responsibilities
- Designs a complete system, component, or process of moderate complexity
- Independently applies standard business tools to assigned tasks
- Independently prepares complete project documents related to numerous products/areas
- Exercise creative and critical thinking in the design of moderately complex equipment
- Subject matter expert in particular area(s)
- Leadership Skills
- Coordinates with other designers and members of other departments as necessary
- Mentoring of other designers in a limited number of specific areas
- Plans, schedules, or coordinates the preparation of documents or activities as assigned
- Direction Received
- Receives general direction on assigned tasks. Work is reviewed in accordance with departmental processes and procedures
- Capable of prioritizing and organizing tasks to meet project deadlines
- Communication Skills
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job on Wagstaff premises, work is performed primarily in an adequately lit, well ventilated, climate controlled general office environment. Close computer work is regularly required. The work usually involves minimal physical exertion. The noise level in the general office environment is usually moderate.
This job may require occasional or more frequent interaction with employees on the manufacturing shop floor. While on the shop floor, the employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risks of moving equipment and parts, and other risks associated with a manufacturing environment. Because of this environment and associated risks, coordination with shop floor managers/employees may be necessary before entering the shop floor, and use of job appropriate personal protective equipment and clothing is required on the shop floor. The noise level on the shop floor is often loud.
This job may also require occasional or more frequent travel to and work at customer sites.
