We are seeking a Media Planner to join a full-spectrum creative agency delivering integrated campaigns across both digital and traditional platforms. This role is designed for a resourceful, well-rounded professional who combines media strategy, execution, and analysis. The ideal candidate will bring initiative, versatility, and a collaborative mindset to support both current client campaigns and long-term growth.
This position leads media efforts across platforms, with responsibility for planning, placement, performance, and budget allocation. It is a hands-on role that involves managing media operations while helping define tools, processes, and future staffing needs as the agency expands its media capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute media strategies across traditional and digital platforms.
- Manage campaign setup, tracking, and optimization across paid media platforms.
- Negotiate rates and placements with media outlets and vendors.
- Evaluate and recommend tools, platforms, and internal processes for media operations.
- Apply media strategy to broader business challenges and client objectives.
- Collaborate with creative and account teams to align media with campaign goals.
- Identify new media opportunities and monitor emerging trends.
- Advise on future staffing needs and contribute to defining the structure of the media department.
- Prepare and deliver reports, insights, and strategic recommendations to clients.
- Lead outbound email strategy and paid digital campaign execution.
- Balance high-level strategic thinking with hands-on execution and attention to detail.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, or a related field.
- 3+ years of media strategy and buying experience, preferably within an agency.
- Experience with traditional media channels, including outdoor, broadcast, and newsprint.
- Familiarity with traditional media markets in the South, especially Mississippi.
- Proven ability to manage relationships with media vendors, sales teams, and outlets.
- Demonstrated skill in developing and managing media budgets and allocations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including reporting and client presentations.
- Fluency in SEO, SEM, and PPC, with current Google Ads and Google Analytics certifications.
- Experience managing outbound email marketing campaigns and paid digital strategy.
- Experience with media planning tools such as Strata Wheelhouse, Mediaocean, Bionic or similar platforms.
- Working knowledge of WordPress CMS and basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Background in political media buying or the automotive sector is a plus.
Compensation
- Salary starting at $75,000, based on experience.
