Position Overview
The Supervisory Medical Supply Technician (Sterile Processing) functions as a first-level supervisor responsible for overseeing a team of MSTs, with administrative duties including planning and directing work. Provides technical supervision essential for accomplishing departmental tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise Lead Technicians (GS-8), Medical Supply Technicians-Advanced (GS-7), and other MST staff.
- Develop duty assignments based on staffing, workload, and priorities.
- Review work, adjust assignments, and identify training needs.
- Evaluate employee performance and initiate corrective actions if needed.
- Recommend staffing and shift adjustments.
- Develop staffing schedules, approve leave, and maintain attendance records.
- Coordinate daily operations within the Sterile Processing Department.
- Resolve customer complaints and employee issues, providing guidance and direction.
Work Schedule
11:30pm - 8:00am with rotating weekends and holidays.

Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Experience or education in healthcare or sterile processing
- Proficiency in English
- Background/security investigation clearance
- Pre-employment physical and drug screening
Qualifications
Experience of at least one year at the next lower grade level or equivalent education and experience. Demonstrated ability to manage staff and oversee sterile processing operations.
