Overview
The AI Foundations Design team is looking for a Product Design Manager. As an organization our mission is drive product innovation through the most performant and trusted models, tools and enterprise assistant. This role will be responsible for overseeing two of our four sub-pillars: Trust & Safety and Llama. We are looking for a leader in this space who is enjoys: - Tackling complex and nuanced design problems - Driving quality and setting standards: Cares about craftsmanship and can put processes in place which hold the quality bar and operationalize how your team works within GenAI and across Meta. - Collaborating with a broad range of cross functional partners, teams, and orgs. You will be working together with your counterparts in engineering, data science, content design, and other disciplines to define the strategy, operations, and communications that guide the team across safety, privacy, youth, sensitive content and foundational model capabilities.
Product Design Manager Responsibilities
- Cultivate a healthy design process for the team, and be a key contributor to your organization's product strategy.
- Lead and oversee the user experience of a product from conception to launch in partnership with product managers, engineers, UX researchers and content strategists
- Define, craft and evolve designs within visual systems and/or standards
- Mentor and manage a design team that consistently delivers on projects and is well-balanced across the different design skill sets.
- Responsible for overall team performance and health, resource allocation, project prioritization, and design execution.
- Represents work to a broader product team and other leaders, clearly and succinctly articulating the goals and concepts
- Experience managing and mentoring teams in matrixed organizations
- Design experience, encompassing interaction design and visual design and how these elements impact product function
- Experience working collaboratively with engineering, design and user research teams.
- Experience leading product direction and strategic thinking with the experience to develop product goals, identify opportunities, and make decisions based on the impact to people and the company
- Experience working with research and data to drive decision making
- 8+ years of experience in Product Design
- 4+ years of design leadership experience with direct reports under your guidance and leadership
- 8+ years of experience working collaboratively with product, engineering, design, content and user research teams
- experience working in AI, integrity and/or safety problem spaces

$196,000/year to $272,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
