Position Summary
This role involves supervising and developing hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties. The supervisor sets clear expectations, promotes a sense of belonging, and recruits qualified staff to support company growth. Responsibilities include overseeing job-related activities, building relationships with stakeholders, supporting business plans, and ensuring continuous learning and improvement. The supervisor leads and develops teams by teaching, training, providing feedback, and communicating effectively about store operations, technology, and company initiatives. They model exceptional customer service, ensure compliance with policies, and support company values and ethics. The role also involves driving financial performance by managing P&L statements, budgeting, controlling expenses, and ensuring sales and profit goals are met. The supervisor fosters a respectful, inclusive workplace, acts with integrity, prioritizes customer needs, strives for excellence, and supports technological and process improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. For firearm-selling facilities, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. Facilities selling only ammunition with specific state requirements may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility. Associates must attend and complete all job-related training and assessments, such as Academy and Open Door trainings.
Preferred Qualifications
Optional qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, a Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through the same programs, and experience supervising five or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
