Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and bilingual (Spanish/English) Content Creator & Community Event Organizer to join our team in Merced, CA. This role is perfect for a creative and community-oriented individual who thrives on social engagement both online and in-person. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing engaging content across all social media platforms and actively organizing and participating in local community events to promote our mission, services, and brand.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation & Social Media Management:
- Develop and execute a content calendar for all major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Produce original content including graphics, videos, stories, and written posts tailored to target audiences in both English and Spanish
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and audience engagement in a timely and professional manner when needed.
Community Engagement & Event Organization:
- Identify and establish partnerships with local organizations, community leaders, and event organizers
- Help Plan, coordinate, and represent the organization at community events, fairs, and outreach activities in Merced and surrounding areas
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop promotional materials and event-related content
- Capture and share live content (photos, videos, interviews) from events for social media and promotional use
- Maintain a visible and approachable presence in the community to increase brand awareness and trust
Requirements:
- Fluency in Spanish and English (spoken and written) is a plus
- Proven experience managing social media content and strategy
- Strong communication, writing, and storytelling skills
- Experience organizing events or community outreach preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends as needed for events
- Proficient with design and editing tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or mobile video editing apps is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with diverse or under served communities
- Knowledge of the Merced area and local community dynamics
- Basic photography/videography skills
