The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Director of Video Production to join their team.
Under the direction of the Director of Video Production, the Assistant Director of Video Production will work with internal and external stakeholders to enhance, support, and elevate brand strategy through multi-purpose video content that appeals to wide-ranging audiences across each of UW Athletics’ communication channels.
This role includes the production of creative video elements for marketing, fan engagement, team integration, sponsored content, and promotional materials used during sporting event presentations. It also supports the production of original content designed for Washington’s digital (GoHuskies.com) and social media platforms.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- 70% - Shooting, editing, and creating original and captivating content for all 22 Washington Athletics social channels, including eye-catching videoboard content for in-venue shows.
- 20% - Attending conceptualization meetings for assigned sports, working with team operations to provide the best coverage and support for each individual team.
- 10% - Managing part-time staff through communication and scheduling, as well as recruiting talented individuals to join our team.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in digital media, film, communications, business, public relations or related field.
- Professional experience may substitute for stated educational requirements.
- A minimum of two years of experience in video and/or multimedia production.
- Proficient in video editing programs and technical use of video cameras.
- Ability to consistently lift and carry at least 40 pounds.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree and knowledge of collegiate athletics helpful, but not required.
- Expert level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop.
