Minimum Requirements
Applicants who possess the following skills will make the strongest candidates:
- Valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential in the appropriate content/subject matter.
- Single Subject: Music
- CLAD/English Language Learner Authorization (must be obtained within one year if not currently possessed).
- Demonstrated track record with English language learners.
- Demonstrated ability to implement varied classroom instructional strategies.
- Educational vision for and experience with low-income and/or minority students.
- Passion for working with children and their families.

The Opportunity
CNCA seeks candidates committed to serving in under-resourced communities. We are looking for teachers who embrace innovative curricular frameworks and are dedicated to ongoing professional development and collaboration. Teachers will perform a full range of duties, including but not limited to:
- Plan and deliver instruction for assigned music courses.
- Prepare and implement lesson plans aligned to California Visual and Performing Arts Standards.
- Regularly assess student progress to refine and differentiate instruction.
- Develop and execute culminating experiences for students such as recitals and concerts.
- Foster a positive learning environment for music students.
- Assist in developing art and music curriculum standards.
- Create and execute long-term plans and unit plans in collaboration with the central Programs team.
- Participate in coaching, collaborative meetings, and professional development.
- Communicate frequently with students, families, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Work closely with families to promote personal growth and success.
