Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Pastor and Choir/Music Director, the accompanist will perform on organ and piano for Sunday Masses (possibly up to three), school Masses on Wednesdays, and choir rehearsals.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform piano and organ accompaniment for practice, rehearsals, and Masses.
- Have knowledge of church music and its integration into liturgy.
- Familiarity with church documents governing liturgy, such as Sacrosanctum Concilium, Musicum Sacram, and general instructions of the Roman Missal, is preferred.
- Possess basic knowledge of music sound production.
- Set up and tear down music equipment as needed.
Job Requirements
- Advanced piano and organ skills.
- Two years of experience as an accompanist preferred.
- Ability to read music.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with Catholic music and all styles.
- Basic understanding of Catholic Church teachings regarding music and spirituality.
- Self-starter with strong project management skills and self-motivation.
- Demonstrate Catholic faith and commitment to St. Paul’s mission and values.
