Adjunct Faculty Search Spring 2025
Music Survey, Music Business, Applied Studies, Ensembles (Strings)
The Department of Music and Art at the Borough of Manhattan Community College has varying needs for adjunct faculty from semester to semester. Qualified educators are encouraged to submit applications for consideration. For the Spring 2025 semester, the department requires adjunct faculty to teach the following courses:
- MUS109: Bebop to Hip-Hop
- MUS114: Music Business
- MUS122: The World of Hip-Hop
- MUS123: The Basics of Digital Music Production I
- MUSXXX: Applied Studies: Voice, Guitar, or Piano (private instruction with a focus on classical, jazz, and/or popular music)
The Department of Music and Art has 24 full-time and approximately 80 part-time faculty members. We have two-degree programs: Art Foundations and Music. The Art Foundations Program offers an Associate in Science degree (A.S.) in Studio Art and an Associate in Arts degree (A.A) in Art History. The Music Degree Program offers an Associate in Science degree (A.S.) in Music with specializations in Music Studies, Music Education, Music Performance, and Jazz & Popular Music. The qualified candidate must be able to work in either the Day or Evening/Weekend program, as needed by the Department.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or relevant industry experience
- Three years of college teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD, DMA, or relevant industry experience
- Five years of college teaching experience
Compensation
- Adjunct Lecturer: $91.67 per hour
- Adjunct Assistant Professor: $100.00 per hour
- Adjunct Associate Professor: $108.33 per hour
- Adjunct Professor: $112.50 per hour
