We are looking for a motivated and creative Social Media Specialist to join our team! Looking for candidates who possess the ability to think both creatively and analytically. The Social Media Specialist duties include producing, publishing, writing, editing, and proofreading content among other responsibilities.
The Social Media Specialist should be comfortable finding creative ways of building an online presence on all platforms. Here, content is defined as multimedia articles, blog posts, images or videos that aid in fostering engagement online.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create, manage and publishing content.
- Ensuring content is clearly communicated and consistent across all platforms.
- Manage and maintain social media calendars and social strategies.
- Ensuring compliance with all state and local laws and regulations
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams and departments.
- Writing, editing and proofreading content.
- Managing a content team consisting of writers, graphic designers, videographers, etc.
- Build a following on social media.
- Provide editorial, creative, and technical support to team members.
- Track analytics to ascertain content engagement levels - to support or change content direction as needed.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role
- Strong understanding of digital marketing concepts and tactics
- Experience with social media and marketing campaigns
- Proficiency with content management systems and knowledge of SEO
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail a MUST.
- Excellent writing, copywriting, editing, proofreading, and creative skills.
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to develop original content.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willing to travel and work on weekends.
