RF Embedded Systems Engineer
SensVita is seeking an experienced RF Embedded Systems Engineer with expertise in RF PCB design and embedded system development to lead the hardware development of our health monitoring system. This role is part of a 36-month NIH grant project, involving the development of an RF transceiver system from concept to validation. The engineer will work closely with leadership, clinical partners, and engineering teams in a startup environment, shaping the hardware architecture of medical technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design custom PCB-based RF systems focusing on cost and performance for clinical use.
- Select and evaluate RF hardware and embedded system components.
- Develop, test, and debug firmware for real-time signal acquisition and digitization.
- Conduct bench testing to validate performance metrics like SNR, phase noise, gain, and channel stability.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to meet technical and clinical standards.
- Troubleshoot hardware issues throughout development.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years experience in RF hardware design, PCB layout, and hardware validation.
- Experience in developing and debugging firmware for microcontrollers.
- Proven track record of translating RF hardware designs from concept to prototypes.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with clinical and commercial teams.
Preferred:
- Experience with systems in ISM bands.
- Hardware interfacing with embedded systems/microcontrollers.
- Background in medical device or regulated hardware environments.
- Proficiency with RF simulation tools and PCB layout software.
Location:
Based in New York, NY (Cornell Tech) or Ithaca, NY (Praxis Center at Cornell University). In-person presence in either location is acceptable.
