Primary Responsibilities:
Creates visual content that will be used for both print, digital, and in-venue applications with an emphasis on increasing awareness, attendance, and revenue. The Creative Content Coordinator provides strategic direction of photography, videography, and graphic design endeavors including features and interviews, as well as the department’s social media accounts including but not limited to Instagram, Twitter (X), Facebook, YouTube, etc. On occasion, this position will support graphics development for facility enhancements such as vinyl wall graphics or signage concepts.
Responsibilities include working with the Communications and Marketing staffs to develop, maintain, and advance the athletics department brand identity through its various printed and digital publications, which include, but are not limited to: social media channels, official athletics website, media guides, game programs, posters, tickets, and newsletters. Works with various sports, communications, and marketing staff to create digital content across a variety of platforms to advance the brand identity of the Sam Houston Department of Athletics. Responsible for content creation plans and execution for assigned sports and projects and overseeing the capture of live-action video and photos during home games, including in-game shots, fan engagement, and special events. Assist with pre-game and post-game videography and photography for social media and marketing use. Performs other duties as assigned.
Nature & Purpose:
Performs semi-complex administrative and supervisory program work.
Other Details:
Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws. Ability to supervise business functions. Communicates with other University departments, personnel, and other agencies. Up to 20% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. One year of experience in a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
