CORE Construction is hiring a full-time Editor to join our dynamic Marketing Team in our office in Scottsdale, AZ. This entry-level role is ideal for detail-oriented and driven individuals who have a passion for reading and a background in journalism, communications, or marketing with a strong emphasis on following style and brand guides, writing, and quality control checks. The Editor will support CORE’s fast-paced marketing department focused on reviewing proposals and other collateral and delivering exceptional editing services, design support, and brand representation for CORE.
The Editor will contribute to supporting qualified proposal submissions exceeding Marketing’s needs and finding innovative ways to improve and enhance written proposal responses. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, communicative, detail-oriented, and excels at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
Content Review & Proposal Editing:
- Review and proofread written material (proposals, brochures, case studies, project spotlights, social media, email campaigns, articles, etc.) for clarity, grammar, style, tone, and factual accuracy
- Conduct final reviews of Request for Proposals/Qualifications (RFP/Q) responses, capability statements, and internal communications before publication or submission
- Maintain brand voice and editorial guidelines across content
- Quality Control - Verify information, citations, data, and overall fact-checking to ensure reliability and compliance with RFP/Q grading criterium
- Support in the translation of technical content into clear, compelling messaging
- Tailor messaging for different audiences, including clients, partners, contractors, and trade publications.
- Feedback & Development - Provide constructive feedback to writers and guide team members
- Project Management – Coordinate timelines with team members, manage multiple proposals at once, and communicate/meet deadlines across a nation-wide marketing team
- A bachelor’s degree in a journalism, communications, marketing, or related field is required.
- Entry-level experience with a passion for reading and being exceptionally detail-oriented
- Strong command of language, grammar, and style
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently
- Knowledge of AP Style guides
- Experience in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry is a plus
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Self-starter with a high level of motivation and problem-solving capabilities
- Must be able to work in office 5 days per week.
- Comfortable working under pressure and meeting multiple deadlines.
- This is an exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act and employee is not eligible for overtime compensation.
