Overview
The IP Video Technician is responsible for networking and troubleshooting IP Video equipment and systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Configure cameras, including Bosch, Axis, and Hanwha.
- Work with IP and Analog cameras both in facilities and in our onsite shop.
- Perform networking duties including troubleshooting using tools such as Wireshark, Angry IP Scanner, VLC Player, and Ping.
- Manage network card IP addressing and troubleshooting.
- Perform basic cabling and rack and stack of CCTV equipment.
- Lift up to 30 lbs.
- Travel to various projects as assigned and as is reasonable.
- Perform basic office duties, including typing, copying, emailing, etc.
- Operate tools and machinery as required.
- Work outside of normal business hours as needed by project demands.
- Communicate regularly and effectively as appropriate.
- Maintain the standards, culture, and values of CML Security.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, or Bluebeam; AutoCAD is a plus.
- Training in VMS Software is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Technical
- Networking fundamentals, including network switches and architecture.
- Experience with network troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, Angry IP Scanner, VLC Player, Ping, etc.
- Understanding of computer fundamentals, network card addressing, and troubleshooting.
- General troubleshooting skills.
CCTV (not required)
- Familiarity with analog cameras and decoders.
- Onsite and offsite training available.
Storage (not required)
- Knowledge of Data Direct Networks (DDN) Storage.
- Experience with Network Appliance (NetApp) Storage.
- Understanding of Dell Isilon Storage.
Support
- Strong customer relation skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of client retention and service skills.
- Maintain courteous and professional demeanor to deliver a remarkable client experience.
