Streaming and Social Video Producer, NBC & TLMD New York

We own and operate leading entertainment and news brands, including NBC, NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, NBC Sports, Telemundo, NBC Local Stations, Bravo, USA Network, and Peacock, our premium ad-supported streaming service.
The NBCUniversal Local duopoly in New York, WNBC/WNJU, is looking for a Streaming and Social Video Producer to produce live and taped streaming productions, social media videos, and additional content for our various platforms, including websites, apps, and social media channels. The Streaming and Social Video Producer will work across the multiplatform, news, and lifestyle teams to create compelling video content to drive views, engagement, traffic, and brand awareness. This individual should have excellent writing and communication skills, a competitive drive to win and thrive in fast-paced, tight-deadline situations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Produce and edit regularly scheduled and special live and taped streaming programs.
- Operate dedicated streaming software in productions of live programs.
- Create multimedia content to enhance daily news cycle, breaking and trending coverage, including social media videos, live streams and still graphics, across platforms.
- Collaborate with on-air reporters and anchors on social media videos, editing and distributing content.
- Collaborate with staff of lifestyle programs Acceso Total and New York Live, supporting digital and social efforts, including clipping programs for the website and YouTube, and producing/editing social media videos.
- Write daily breaking or trending stories for NBC 4 New York platforms and back up web producers as needed.
- Curate the homepage and other subsections, sending push alerts to drive traffic as content warrants.
- Execute SEO best practices in selecting and creating content daily for the websites and social media.
- Track the metrics and analytics on a regular basis to inform content and strategy decisions.
- Support the social media strategy for WNJU and WNBC’s social media accounts posting relevant content (links, videos, photos/graphics) throughout the day.
- Stay on the cutting-edge of digital, social and streaming trends and innovation. Develop new best practices and processes to drive growth and creativity.
- Occasionally participate in field shoots through producing and shooting video.
- Abide by the ethical standards of the NBC News Group and Telemundo Station Group when creating and producing content for all platforms.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least one year working for a news organization, digital content company, or blog working under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience producing or directing broadcast television, streaming, or social video content.
- Demonstrated knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, etc.
- Must be willing to work in-office five days a week.
- Must be available to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Desired Characteristics:
- Fluency in writing and speaking Spanish and English a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of video editing tools like Adobe Premiere and social video editing/captioning tools like CapCut or Canva.
- Experience writing scripts, captions and text for video graphics.
- Proficiency in photo editing software like Adobe Photoshop.
- Experience with live-streaming software, especially VMix, a plus.
- Experience writing digital stories for a news organization or blog on tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated knowledge of AP Style writing and guidelines.
- Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices and demonstrated ability to create content based on current or upcoming search trends to drive traffic.
- Knowledge of SEO tools, including Google Trends and Google Search Consoles.
- Experience with WordPress VIP, SocialFlow, and push alert publishing tools a plus.
- Experience with website tracking and analytics tools, including Parse.ly, a plus.
- Excellent news instincts and judgment with the ability to react decisively to breaking news.
- Experience with videography, conducting field shoots a plus using Canon DSLRs and Osmo cameras.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and stories simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player mentality.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Knowledge of the New York City area or previous newsroom experience in the Tri-State is considered a plus.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $95,000
