Job DescriptionThe student hourly will work closely with Allison Barnes and KC Kong to update the Physics and Astronomy department's graduate program database, which is built on FileMaker Pro. Responsibilities include understanding the existing database structure and implementing modifications to align with updated degree requirements for PhD and MS programs. The department aims to refine the database structure to improve the usability. Specific changes will be determined based on the time required for implementation, and on the discussion with the student hourly, Allison Barnes and KC Kong. The work primarily involves:
- 80% - editing the database
- 20% - planning and discussion
- Must be able to use FileMaker Pro 16
- During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
