Overview
Work collaboratively with OKTEP staff, tribal and community partners to design culturally relevant deliverables including curricula, recipes, signage, social media graphics, reports, presentations, program branding and other materials relevant to OKTEP SNAP-Ed programming.
- Assisting in conception and implementation of creative production strategies for products and services produced by OKTEP.
- Design educational and collateral materials used as part of the SNAP-Ed Program. Developing and maintaining uniform style and theme for OKTEP program content and branding.
- Creating or selecting art objects, photographs, audio, and video to enhance the effectiveness of educational and promotional materials by utilizing the technology available. Consulting with and giving direction to the design and creation of both print and technology-based evaluation and assessment tools.
- Playing a key role in upholding integrity of Eagle Adventure and Not Our Destiny language, cultural relevance, and message dissemination with partner tribes.
- Assisting in compiling various reports, mailings, exhibits, conferences, and external correspondence.
- Coordinating and providing leadership for web maintenance and updates.
- Support special projects related to promotional, educational, evaluation materials in both print and online formats and including optimizing user experience in survey design and implementation.
- Supporting and assisting in the planning, creation, and delivery of educational materials in school-based settings, health fairs, tribal camps, and other events as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Ability to motivate oneself and work independently while also working well in a team environment.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized with several deadlines.
- Ability to perform advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, computer design and Macintosh OS, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Qualtrics, content management software and basic audio and video editing skills.
- Demonstrated design skills.
- Proficient in public speaking and speaking in front of groups of youth and adults; effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to be flexible and think on your feet in all situations.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Maintains effective communication and interpersonal skills; punctual, prepared and professional; comfortable receiving constructive feedback and applying feedback to designs.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and vehicle insurance.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Graphic Design, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with grants, nonprofits, tribes or Indian Tribal Organizations. Experience in curriculum and program design preferred.
- Experience working with families eligible for FDPIR and SNAP benefits.
