Position/Salary and Benefits: Official Court Reporter, grade 36, $28.78 hourly (increasing to $28.80 at 6 months and $31.00 after one year of successful service). For more details, visit Kansas Judicial Branch Benefits at ks.gov.
Job Duties: Responsible for verbatim reporting of judicial proceedings at high speeds and preparing accurate verbatim transcripts. Maintain electronic backups, handle exhibits until otherwise instructed, and perform administrative duties as assigned. Work is reviewed for accuracy and content according to established procedures.
Required education, licensure, and experience: Must possess a Kansas Certified Court Reporter certification or be eligible for a temporary certificate, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and formal training in machine shorthand or voice writing. Experience with computers and comfort with technology are required.
