Regulatory approvals for the acquisition of controlling shares in two companies in South Africa have been secured by South Africa-based construction company Raubex.
It has bought a 70% stake in the gypsum operations and another 70% in aggregate crushing and ready-mix concrete operations of Oranje Mynbou en Vervoer (OMV) for ZAR 70.30 million (€ 4.84 million).
The acquisition will take effect from 1 July 2014. Additionally, Raubex has acquired a 60% stake in Shisalanga Construction for ZAR 38.4 million. Shisalanga Construction is an asphalt products manufacturer.
The CEA (Construction Equipment Association) has become an official Membership Partner of the IMechE (Institution of Mechanical Engineers). This new partnership aims to strengthen collaboration between the organizations.
The U.S. adjusted construction unemployment rate was 5.4%, unchanged from March 2024, according to a state-by-state analysis of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Cemex has received the delivery of 20 new DAF XD 410 eight-wheel tippers as part of its ongoing UK vehicle fleet upgrade.
