Join a highly respected and growing employee-owned Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company with over 30 years of success. We are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager for our Orland Park, IL office. This is a great opportunity for a professional looking to advance from a project engineer, design engineer, or industrial architect role. The ideal candidate will possess a Professional Engineer (PE) License or be a Registered Architect with significant experience in commercial, industrial, and office building projects, specifically in HVAC, power distribution, MEP systems, or building structures and foundations.
Key Responsibilities:
Client & Project Leadership: Take charge of client relations, from initial project conception through to ongoing design and construction phases.
Design Development: Lead the development of conceptual and schematic designs, design basis memoranda, and coordinate with the appropriate design teams.
Standards Compliance: Ensure regional design staff adhere to company design standards and control systems.
Team Mentorship: Mentor and develop staff to foster individual growth, departmental development, and succession planning.
Project Management: Manage multi-discipline design projects, coordinate with sub-consultants across various disciplines, and oversee project schedules, cost estimates, and documentation.
Client & Contractor Communication: Lead owner communications, manage client expectations, respond to contractor RFIs, and oversee submittals.
Travel: Travel to client or project sites as required, with up to 25% overnight travel.
Qualifications:
Experience: 7+ years in project engineering, design engineering, or industrial architecture, with a focus on commercial and industrial buildings.
Technical Expertise: Experience with HVAC, power distribution systems, building structures, and foundations in industrial/commercial settings.
Project Experience: Familiarity with large-engineered metal buildings, multi-story buildings, distribution centers, warehouses, office buildings, and manufacturing facilities.
Client Interaction: Strong experience in client interfacing and managing project scope, cost, and time.
Software Proficiency: Competency in MS Project, Procore, and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook).
Construction Experience: Construction background is a plus.
Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Structural Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license or Registered Architect required.
Project Management: Proven ability to manage concurrent projects across different states, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey critical information to the right stakeholders at the right time.
Benefits & Compensation:
Compensation: up to $140K base salary with the potential earnings with incentives up to $180K+ per year, depending on qualifications and performance.
Bonuses: Individual and company performance bonuses of up to 25%.
