Job Summary:
The part-time Grant Writer will support the Corvallis Campus and Extended Learning Division by researching, writing, and submitting grant applications to secure funding. This position will work alongside the Operations Projects and CDL Program Manager to identify relevant funding opportunities and craft compelling grant proposals that align with the College mission and Division Vision.
Required Qualifications

- Education and Experience:
- The position requires an Associate’s Degree plus one year of full-time experience, or;
- A High school diploma plus three years of full-time experience in a related field, or;
- An equivalent combination of education and experience that enables full performance of the position.
- Knowledge and Skills:
- Must have detailed online researching skills.
- Requires previous experience with general office practices, procedures, office technology, and computer use.
- Must be computer proficient with advanced software experience in: Excel, Word, and/or Google suite.
- Must have some level of experience with CRM and/or project management tools, social platforms, or other online tools, services, and software.
- Attention to detail and accuracy of data entry and proofreading are required.
- Excellent communication and writing skills are required.
- Must be able to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
- Able to take initiative, problem solve, meet timelines, track and complete projects efficiently and effectively.
- Abilities:
- Requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a larger team.
- Must be able to perform all of the duties of the position efficiently and effectively.
- Must be able to operate equipment of the position and perform duties in a safe manner.
- Must be able to prioritize and manage work to meet tight schedules and timelines.
- Must be flexible with changing deadlines and goals.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively.

Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred experience should include grant research and writing with a track record of successfully securing funding.
- Additional professional writing experience can include technical writing, content creation, government funding, or similar.
- Experience working in or with community-based organizations and/or educational institutions is an advantage.
- Prefer knowledge and experience researching, writing, and applying for grants in community education, non-credit education, K-12, higher education, community organizations, or related fields.
- Prefer customer service experience, working with diverse populations over the phone, via email, and in person.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
This position primarily involves working at a computer for extended periods, requiring sustained focus and attention to detail. Work is normally performed in an office setting with little or no exposure to health and safety hazards. The role is on-site at the Corvallis Campus in Corvallis, Oregon. Physical demands are generally minimal and consistent with standard office work, such as typing, reading, and sitting for long durations.
Additional Duties
- Under direction from the Operations Projects and CDL Program Manager:
- Learn about each Support and Program Service area’s business model, structure, workflow, and goals.
- Participate in planning, strategy, and execution of Division goals relating to grant research, grant applications, and other related work.
- Participate in the creation of organizational processes, operations, and administration to support the grant application process – from grant research to writing, through submission and related work.
- Ensure alignment between grant research, writing, application, and submission with internal tools, processes, and relevant team members.
- Problem-solve, create, and administer operational aspects of grant applications and submissions.
- Utilize monday.com as an organizational tool to track all actions, timelines, and relevant team members in relation to grant research, writing, applications, and submissions.
- Work with the Manager to ensure clarity of goals, actions, and timelines.
- Conduct thorough research to identify relevant and timely funding sources, including grants and scholarships that align with the Division’s Support and Program Service areas.
- Work with various organizations to identify grant opportunities.
- Support the Manager with funding initiatives that align with the Division.
- Write, edit, and submit high-quality and relevant grant proposals.
- Adhere to specific grant application guidelines (formatting, required documentation, deadlines, etc.) as well as submission timelines.
- Track and manage multiple grant applications simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
- Stay informed of trends and opportunities in grant funding for higher education and community-focused initiatives.
- Provide feedback to the Manager on ideas for process improvement.
- Other related duties as needed and assigned.
