We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Art Design Consultant to curate and select artwork collections for RFQs (Request for Quotes), seasonal lines, key accounts, strategic sales targets, website merchandising, and stock inventory. This role serves as a bridge between art, sales, and customer engagement, collaborating closely with e-commerce partners, retail buyers, and interior designers to develop high-quality, marketable collections tailored to client needs.
With a strong focus on the hospitality, assisted living, healthcare, and commercial sectors, the Design Consultant will assist designers, specifiers, and ownership in curating artwork that aligns with project visions. Understanding and interpreting client inspirations is key to ensuring project success. Additionally, this role involves building relationships with hospitality design firms, specifiers, and purchasing firms to promote Leftbank Art as a premier art source. The consultant will also engage and negotiate fees with external art resources, including artists, photographers, and publishers, to expand and enhance the company’s offerings.
The ideal candidate has a keen eye for design trends, strong organizational skills, and the ability to translate client preferences into compelling and strategic art collections.
Key Responsibilities:
Curation for RFQs & Large Project Proposals
- Curate and assemble art selections for RFQs and large project proposals, ensuring alignment with client specifications and brand identity.
- Collaborate with the sales and production teams to ensure art choices are viable for production and meet budgetary requirements.
- Provide customized artwork recommendations based on client preferences, industry trends, and project scope.
Seasonal Line Curation for Key Accounts & Strategic Targets
- Develop and curate seasonal art collections tailored for key accounts, major retailers, and targeted sales opportunities.
- Research market trends to ensure selections are on-brand and commercially viable for wholesale partners.
- Work closely with the creative and sales teams to present curated collections to high-value clients.
Website Merchandising Curation
- Strategically curate and organize online product offerings, ensuring visually appealing and trend-forward collections.
- Regularly update the website’s featured collections, bestsellers, and promotional themes to enhance customer engagement.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure curated collections align with branding and campaign strategies.
Stock Inventory Curation & Management
- Select and maintain a well-balanced inventory of in-stock artwork to support quick turnaround sales and strategic business growth.
- Analyze sales data and industry trends to ensure inventory selections meet demand while minimizing overstock.
- Work closely with purchasing and production teams to optimize inventory selection for key sales channels.
Customer Interaction & Sales Support for Large Projects
- Engage directly with major clients, including interior designers, hospitality groups, and large retail partners, to curate custom art collections for their projects.
- Present curated selections to customers in a compelling, visual storytelling approach, highlighting design relevance and commercial potential.
- Provide expert consultation on artwork selection, material options, and customization possibilities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in art, Design, Visual Merchandising, Interior Design, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years in art curation, product merchandising, wholesale design consulting, or a related role within the art, home décor, or design industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (such as AutoCAD or SketchUp) is required for space planning, artwork placement visualization, and project proposals.
- Strong understanding of design trends, color theory, and market preferences in the wholesale art industry.
- Experience working with retailers, interior designers, and e-commerce merchandising.
- Familiarity with wholesale pricing structures, RFQ processes, and large-scale art projects.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), CRM systems, and e-commerce merchandising platforms.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with a customer-centric approach.
- Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of curated art selections from concept to installation.
- Work closely with architects, procurement specialists, and interior designers to curate art selections that meet aesthetic, budgetary, and functional needs for hospitality and healthcare environments.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in wholesale home décor, framed art, or digital art production.
- Experience in commercial interior design, hospitality, or healthcare design is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of hospitality, corporate, or commercial interior design industries.
- Familiarity with drop shipping, online marketplaces, and digital merchandising strategies.
