SUMMARY: We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Content Editor to edit engaging, high-quality video content for UP Entertainment’s streaming and linear brands aimed at captivating subscribers, viewers, and digital audiences. The Content Editor will leverage video editing skills to promote our streaming services (UP Faith & Family, GaitherTV+, aspireTV+) and linear brands (UPtv, aspireTV, Ovation) by optimizing impactful short-form video content, ensuring our brand narratives resonate deeply across digital channels. This position is ideal for a visionary storyteller who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The Content Editor will collaborate effectively among internal teams and external stakeholders. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Editing:
- Support UP Entertainment’s marketing teams in editing engaging video content optimized for social and digital platforms from various sources such as programming content, behind-the-scenes footage, on-set shoots, talent content and influencer partnerships.
- Output attention-grabbing, high-quality video content tailored to specific platform requirements including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and more.
- Lead the end-to-end editing of short form videos, responsible for cutting clips, rough cuts, music, graphics, effects, transitions, and final editing.
- Capture audience-ready, social-first content with an iPhone or company-provided camera during production of original series and events.
- Create and edit content from existing video sources for social media platforms, blogs, websites and newsletters, continuously optimized for engagement, growth performance and high impact storytelling.
- Ensure visual alignment to each brand's unique editorial voice and brand standards.
- Collaborate closely with digital and brand marketing teams to tailor content for audiences across platforms.
- Work closely with marketing, streaming, network operations, production, programming, PR and legal departments.
- Ability to work independently and as a cohesive team with various levels of stakeholders such as creative services, senior management and external teams.
- Effectively manage multiple projects and ensure timely delivery of high-quality video content.
- Balance creative storytelling with efficient editing workflow and execution.
- Ensure proper archival of produced content pieces and footage.
- Edit and creatively repurpose content, ensuring it's optimized for performance on intended platform (e.g., short-form for YouTube & TikTok, stories and carousel posts for Instagram, blogs for websites).
- Research and present best practices for content creation and optimization.
- Ensure content meets SEO, accessibility and quality standards.
- Stay informed of emerging social and digital media trends and identify opportunities to capitalize on trends with compelling digital video content.
- Implement efficient editing technologies and best practices to improve content relevance and engagement.
- Bachelor's degree in Film/Video, Design, Multi-media Journalism, Communications, or related media-focused fields highly preferred.
- 5+ years experience in digital content creation, editing, and publishing, preferably within fast paced digital media, entertainment, or publishing sectors.
- Demonstrated video editing abilities with a portfolio of published work.
- Oral & Written Communications: Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Communicates well one on one, in small groups and larger presentations, including external public speaking. Writes clear, precise, well-organized documents using appropriate vocabulary, grammar, and wording.
- Judgment and Decision Making: Consistent logic, rationality, and objectivity in decision-making. Generates sensible, realistic, practical solutions to problems. Exhibits a high level of integrity, earning trust of coworkers and putting organization and team above self-interests.
- Problem Solving and Analysis: Identifies significant problems and opportunities. Analyzes problems in depth and achieves effective resolution. Determines root causes for issues and solves for them, striving for continuous improvement.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team; experience working with cross-functional teams.
To perform this job successfully, in addition to the skills noted above an individual must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and the following below:
- Expertise in Premiere Pro and After Effects, and proficiency in company-approved AI tools for content editing.
- Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills, with the ability to create narratives tailored to digital audiences.
- Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) such as Brandfolder.
- Knowledge of SEO and SEO marketing best practices.
- Experience with digital analytics tools, including Google Analytics, Looker, Hubspot, Sprout.
- Experience with static creative asset editing and graphics editing tools is beneficial.

This is a hybrid job role, with a combination of telecommuting workdays and in-office workdays.
