Position Summary
The Department of Music at Millersville University seeks a part-time instructor to teach voice students. Responsibilities include weekly individual studio voice lessons (half-hour and hour-long) and an hour-long masterclass for music education majors. Scholarship and service are also expected.
The purpose of this posting is to generate a pool of qualified faculty. Applications will be reviewed as needed based on enrollment. Qualified applicants may be contacted for an interview and hired when a need arises. Applications not immediately hired will remain in the pool.

Teaching and Professional Responsibilities:
Teaching occurs in a traditional environment. Faculty maintain office hours proportional to their workload, at times and locations that accommodate students. In-person instruction on campus is required, contingent on sufficient enrollment.

Department Description:
The Tell School of Music offers various music programs, has NASM accreditation, and employs full-time and part-time faculty.
Qualifications:
- Master’s in Music with emphasis in vocal performance or pedagogy, or BA with 15 graduate credits
- Knowledge of voice, commercial and classical pedagogy
- Ability to teach diverse students
- Excellent communication skills
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Successful interview and teaching demonstration
- Background checks
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD, DMA, or ABD in Music
- Previous college teaching experience
Physical and Work Conditions:
- Work is mainly indoors
- Ability to sit, stand, speak clearly, and communicate effectively
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting with assistance
- Ability to teach face-to-face and online
- Proficiency with computers for grading, communication, and course preparation
