Base pay range

$45.00/hr - $50.00/hr

Our client, popular fashion brand, is seeking a Women's Footwear Designer to join their team in NYC on a temporary basis for 2 months with potential to extend! This is for dress & dress casual shoes.

Responsibilities:

• Conceptualize and design a range of dress shoes in various styles that align with the brand's identity.
• Conduct market research and trend analysis to identify new opportunities and stay ahead of industry trends.
• Lead projects and take initiative for concepting at design meetings
• Oversee prototypes and adjust or make corrections as needed in collaboration with the technical design team.
• Create detailed sketches, technical specifications, and 3D models for new designs.
• Collaborate closely with the product development team to ensure designs are feasible and aligned with production capabilities.
• Select materials, colors, and finishes that enhance the design while adhering to sustainability practices.
• Participate in fittings and provide feedback to refine the fit, comfort, and overall design of the footwear.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of footwear construction and production processes to inform design decisions.

Qualifications:

• At least 3-5 years of design experience within footwear (women's dress shoes preferred)
• Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite
• Must be able to hand sketch, develop tech packs, and edit prototypes
• Excellent organization and self-management skills
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
