Overview
Locus Robotics is offering an exciting summer internship program looking for a UX Design Intern to help shape our next-generation logistics software. During this internship, you'll work closely with our product and development teams to design user-centered interfaces and improve the overall user experience of our software. In this internship, you'll gain hands-on experience in solving real-world design challenges, focusing on usability, efficiency, and functionality for a diverse set of users. You will also get a portfolio-worthy project that demonstrates your design skills and impact on a live product.
This is a US remote internship role.
Responsibilities:
- Help create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for web and mobile platforms.
- Assist in conducting user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights and identify user pain points.
- Contribute to the design of dashboards, reporting tools, and mobile interfaces, ensuring they are user-friendly and aligned with business goals.
- Continuously iterate on designs based on user feedback, data analytics, and team input.
- Support the development of design documentation, user personas, journey maps, and other UX artifacts.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a related degree program (e.g., UX Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or related fields) and have completed at least your sophomore year, or a recent graduate within one year of graduation.
- Basic knowledge of UX design principles, usability, and human-centered design processes.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar.
- A portfolio (or work samples) that demonstrates your design thinking and process, even if it's academic or personal projects.
- Proficient English written and verbal communication skills required to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams.
