Job Description
KLAS 8 News Now is actively recruiting for a full-time Photographer I/Editor, News.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Photograph news events, both live and to digital file, for news programs, ensuring fair, unbiased, and accurate coverage.
- Edit footage to match scripts prepared by reporters, producers, or associate producers, using in-house or field locations as needed.
- Collaborate with reporters to develop complete stories and provide production suggestions.
- Maintain assigned equipment and vehicles in good condition and complete all required paperwork.
- Set up remote transmissions for live or digital feeds from the field.
- Lift and handle equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Requirements & Skills:
- Fluency in English.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years experience in photography, editing, and live truck operations.
- Proficiency with non-linear editing software, specifically Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Valid Nevada driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to follow directions, work under pressure, and make independent decisions.
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
The role requires sitting, telephone and email communication, face-to-face discussions, and the ability to handle objects and tools. Work may occur in bright or poor lighting conditions, requiring repetitive movements and physical handling of equipment.
