About Us Pioneer Sports & Entertainment is a leading sports operations and investment firm, backed by pro athletes and business leaders. We deliver premium experiences across youth soccer events, travel, leagues, and entertainment. This year, we celebrate 30yrs of partnership with Nike, and 10yrs with Manchester City for the Man City Cup tournament! We’re looking for a Marketing Manager to lead strategy and execution across several business units: Surf Sports (Primary Focus) : Drive tournament marketing and brand storytelling via website, email, video, and social (Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn). Del Mar Wine & Food Festival:
Promote ticket sales through digital marketing and coordinate with San Diego Magazine on brand deliverables. Athlete Travel:
Support seasonal campaigns, sales, and LinkedIn outreach. Mid-Atlantic Premier League (MAPL) : Manage website, social, and collaborate with the league leadership team. Who You Are You’re a proactive, results-driven marketer with a love for soccer and a passion for brand storytelling. You know how to make social media content pop especially on Instagram through visuals and video. You’re organized, collaborative, detail-oriented, and capable of juggling multiple priorities while staying focused on KPIs. You’ll report to the Director of Marketing. Key Responsibilities Execute and manage marketing strategies across Surf Sports, Athlete Travel, MAPL, and Del Mar Wine & Food Festival. Build relationships with partners including Club América, Manchester City/CFG, San Diego Wave FC, Nike, and others. Collaborate with our Creative team to produce all marketing assets: branding, social media, email, awards, merch, signage, and more! Oversee and run: Instagram (@SurfSportsEvents, @MidAtlanticPremierLeague), YouTube (@InsideSurfSoccer), and LinkedIn (Surf Sports, Athlete Travel, MAPL). Maintain and optimize websites: SurfSports.com, ClubAmericaCup.soccer, ManCityCup.com, Delmar.wine, AthleteTravel.com, MidAtlanticPremierLeague.com Develop monthly content calendars: press releases/blog posts, email newsletters, social media day-to-day management. Track and report KPIs to evaluate brand awareness, growth, and engagement. Work with Creative Director for Facility branding decks, and create post-event recap decks. Provide support to senior leadership by ensuring alignment on priorities, maintaining clear communication, anticipating needs, and delivering consistent updates. Surf Sports-Specific Duties Direct photographers and videographers to capture event-specific content and themes. Stay up-to-date on the latest youth soccer league news, club/team performance, and players called up to National, Pro, and Collegiate ranks. Partner with the Surf Nation Marketing Manager for shared event and club content. Learn to use and understand youth sports software for tournament schedules, brackets, scores, and connecting with college coaches/scouts. Evaluate media partners (e.g. BallerTV, NextPro) for live streaming and highlight packages. Tools We Use ClickUp, WordPress, Sprout Social, Canva, Emma/Mailchimp Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field (or equivalent experience) 5–7+ years in marketing, with a strong focus on strategy, digital, and content execution Deep knowledge of and passion for soccer—bonus for familiarity with the U.S. youth/club system Proven project management skills in fast-paced environments Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Collaborative, adaptable, and fun to work with Important Notes This role is 100% on-site and includes weekends and holidays for tournament coverage.
