$85,000.00/yr - $105,000.00/yr
Architectural Talent Specialist
We are seeking a talented and experienced Interior Designer with 6-10 years of experience to join our client's New York team. Our client's studio specializes in interior design with a strong architectural influence, delivering distinctive and inspiring designs across residential and commercial sectors.
The ideal candidate will have an exceptional design portfolio, solid specification expertise, and proven experience managing a variety of residential and hospitality projects from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Concept Design Development:
- Create creative, conceptual designs (3D, 2D, and hand-drawings) for a range of project types, including:
- High-end residential projects ($2M–$10M budgets)
- Mixed-use commercial spaces, including luxury restaurants, bars, hotels, and multi-use developments
- New builds, fit-outs, and refurbishment projects
- Prepare comprehensive design documents, including DD and CD sets, schedules, and installation guidelines.
- Demonstrate excellent space planning skills, a strong ability to read architectural drawings, and meticulous detailing.
- Showcase expertise in FF&E selection, custom design, finishes specifications, and staying current on industry trends.
- Build and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships, presenting work effectively to internal partners and clients.
- Act as a key interface with clients, ensuring their vision is understood and executed.
- Liaise directly with clients, external consultants, and suppliers to ensure seamless collaboration and delivery.
- Assist in managing project budgets and timelines effectively.
- Be self-motivated to learn, grow, and proactively communicate within the team.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Technical Skills:
- Strong ability to produce technical drawings, specifications, and custom FF&E designs.
- Experience reviewing shop drawings and ensuring accuracy in technical deliverables.
- Capability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring thorough and timely completion of deliverables.
- High attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including presenting work effectively and maintaining positive client and team relationships.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).
- Skilled in CAD software (preferably VectorWorks).
- Experience with SketchUp, Bluebeam, and familiarity with Design Spec (or similar software) is an advantage.
