Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in electronics, electrical engineering, information and computer science, or business administration specializing in information systems management or related field.

Education Substitutions:
1) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any field plus two (2) additional years of relevant on-the-job training in telecommunication network systems as described below; 2) Six (6) excess years of job experience related to telecommunication systems and extensive work with routing protocols and network communications may be used in lieu of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
Six (6) years of responsible professional work experience in telecommunication network planning, designing and installation including WAN and LAN networking technology planning & implementation and information technology application development, implementation & management, of which two (2) years shall have been in an education agency, program or system.
Experience Substitution:
Master's degree in a major listed above or related field may be used to satisfy two (2) years of required professional work experience.
Desired Experience:
Telecommunication network configuration and installation of data, voice, and video network systems. Combined Education and Experience: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable as determined by the Department. Substitutions can be considered for the requirement of experience in an education program, agency, or system.
Knowledge:
Basic principles, theories, and practices of information technology, operation and management of computing and networking systems, computer and network security, telecommunications network planning, designing, installation for voice, data, and video applications; understanding of telecommunication network installation and operation, EIA/TIA telecommunication cabling and pathway standards; understanding of Internet protocols, services and technologies; principles and practices of supervision; laws, rules, regulations, and administrative procedures applicable to the area of assignment.
Desired Knowledge:
Understanding and kept up to date on WAN standards, routing protocols, dense wavelength division multiplexing, network operating systems, Internet standards and protocols, Internet services, network service management standards and protocols, and video network standards and protocols.
Ability to:
Perform a full range of telecommunication services in the area or areas of assignment; communicate effectively with others orally and in writing; operate telecommunication, computer and other business equipment; maintain awareness of development in telecommunications technology.
Desired Ability to:
Provide training for school staff and students in the use of technologies to enhance learning.
SALARY RANGE:
EOSR-7, $110,136 to $155,904.
Department of Education certificated employees will be placed on the salary range in accordance with Department regulations. All others will be placed on the first step of $110,136.
WORK YEAR AND BENEFITS:
This appointment will be on a 12-month basis with vacation and sick leave provided according to applicable regulations.
