Base Pay
This role has a minimum base pay from $15.24 per hour with higher starting pay available based on experience.

Purpose
Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start to finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with the customers we serve. Designers meet with customers, listen to their project needs, educate them on all that is required for their project, and build a creative design concept that incorporates the customer's personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• Minimum of One (1) year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience
• Degree in Design is a plus
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position

Essential Functions

• Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support store design walk-in needs
• Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, developing clientele through networking, referrals, and store leads
• Provide advice on tile, wood, stone, and accessories to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for residential and commercial projects
• Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions
• Manage multiple customer projects through all phases with accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up, maintaining clear communication
• Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation, achieving sales and other goals
• Support company initiatives by modeling and coaching best practices with store staff
• Engage with current and emerging design trends
• Utilize design applications such as Salesforce, Online Design Scheduler, MyProject
• Perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

• Limited travel may be required by car
• Exposed to warehouse environment and moving vehicles; noise level is moderate to noisy

Physical/Sensory Requirements

Medium Work – Exert 20-50 pounds occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly. Use hands and fingers frequently, stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally.

Store Hours

Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
